Unable to load leiningen on macbook

#1

Hi,

I am new to clojure, as the title probably indicated. Trying to execute the leiningen command:

curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/technomancy/leiningen/stable/bin/lein > lein
sudo mkdir -p /usr/local/bin/
sudo mv lein /usr/local/bin/lein
sudo chmod a+x /usr/local/bin/lein
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/bin

and after the pasword I receive this message:

alexander is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.
Annas-MBP:~ alexander$

Not sure to whom it wants to report it to but I am not that concerned about that, though.

Background: I am testing this on my girlfriends Macbook, hence the dual names. Java is installed.

Not sure what I am doing wrong, probable something simple, but any and all help would be very welcome.

Thank,

Al_x

Hi @Al_x,

Thanks for the question!

You say you’re on someone else’s macbook. That probably means that you need sudo access for your account.

Here are some instructions for adding the user alexander to that file. http://osxdaily.com/2014/02/06/add-user-sudoers-file-mac/ I think you will have to run this from your girlfriend’s account.

Let me know how that works.

Eric

Hi ericnormand,

Thank you for confirming this! Since its easier to switch to my girlfriends account. I did that. it now works. Up to the next task
