The language of the language

When we use ‘def’, we say that we are binding a name to a value. eg (def first-name “Greatest”)

But when we use a map, eg {:last-name “Ever” :first-name “Greatest”}, are we binding a value to a name/value here, or are we mapping a value to a name?

Hi @snuffaluffagus,

Good question.

I hear both uses. But I think mapping is more correct. Bind is also used for locals and vars in a namespace.
